Beauty of The Universe

Stunning visuals of the AuroraBorealis

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration shared stunning visuals of the #AuroraBorealis and #AuroraAustralis phenomena from space, captured in Ultra-HD resolution from the International Space Station.

Journey to a Triple Star System

Move over Luke Skywalker, your home planet Tatooine isn’t the most exotic planet anymore. Astronomers say they imaged the first-ever planet orbiting within a triple-star system.
As you travel deep into the constellation of Centaurus, you will eventually come to an unremarkable-looking star called HD 131399. This star is part of a triple star system whose brightest component is orbited by a unique exoplanet called HD 131399Ab.

The Prawn and the Scorpion
This video sequence starts with a view of the rich central parts of the Milky Way and then closes in on a spectacular region of star formation known as the Prawn Nebula (also known as Gum 56 and IC 4628) in the constellation of Scorpius. The final close up view is a very sharp image taken using the MPG/ESO 2.2-meter telescope at ESO’s La Silla Observatory in Chile.

COSMIC LAB
COSMIC LAB: This video takes you on a journey into the deep central regions of the Milky Way where many bright star forming regions and star clusters can be seen. Your ultimate destination is the bright star cluster Messier 18, which astronomers consider the perfect cosmic laboratory in which to study the life and death of stars. Learn more about this Cosmic

3D Carina Nebula
This video takes you on a 3D trip into the giant "mountain" of cool hydrogen and dust in the Carina Nebula – a vast star-forming region in our Milky Way galaxy. Learn more about the Carina Nebula

Cosmic Wonders – The Triangulum Galaxy
This video takes you on a three million light-year journey to the Triangulum Galaxy. The final view, from the VLT Survey Telescope, is among the most detailed wide-field views of this object ever taken and shows the many glowing red gas clouds in the spiral arms with particular clarity. The Beating Heart Of The Crab Nebula
This video zooms into part of the sky in the constellation of Taurus ending on the inner parts of the famous Crab Nebula, a supernova remnant. New images from the Hubble Space Telescope is revealing the Crab Nebula’s beating heart like we’ve never seen it before.

Galactic Fireworks Send Shock Waves Through Space
A galactic fireworks show is taking place about 23 million light years away from Earth. But rather than being sparked by the typical pyrotechnic methods, this display is fueled by a giant black hole, shock waves and vast reservoirs of gas. Learn more about this cosmic wonder

Cosmic Wonders - Aging Double Star Reveals Her Secrets:
This video takes you deep into a spectacular region of the southern Milky Way in the constellation of Vela. While there are many interesting features in this video, the star of the show is actually an older double star system known as IRAS 08544-4431. This aging object is surrounded by a dusty disc that has been clearly resolved for the first time by the Very Large Telescope Interferometer at ESO’s Paranal Observatory in Chile.
